Your first drop.

From a blank drop to a running server in a few clicks.

1. Start a drop

Open jsdrop.com: a new drop is ready straight away. For something else, click New drop and pick a template or a starter kit. You can also drag a .ts or .js file, or a package.json, from your desktop onto the sidebar.

2. Two files

index.ts is your program: TypeScript, run as an ES module (in your browser by a Node.js-compatible runtime, and on real Node.js 24 when deployed). package.json lists its npm dependencies. That is the whole drop.

3. Run it

Press Run (or Cmd/Ctrl + Enter). Output appears in the console below the preview. If the program starts a server, the preview shows it, along with a public URL you can share while your tab runs it. Everything saves automatically while you work.

4. Save a version

Click Save when you reach a milestone. It creates a permanent version, runs it, and updates your public page. You can go back to any saved version from the version menu.

5. Share it

Click Share to copy the link to your public page, an embed code, or the editor link to build together. Fork makes your own copy of any drop.

Keyboard shortcuts

• Cmd/Ctrl + S: save a version and run it.
• Cmd/Ctrl + Enter: run the drop.
• Cmd/Ctrl + F in an editor: find and replace.
• Shift + Alt + F in an editor: prettify the file.
• Tab: indent, or accept an autocomplete suggestion.
• Cmd/Ctrl + Z: undo your own edits.
• Escape: close a dialog or expanded pane.
